Shallow depth of the tunnel excavation response research based on CRD method
AbstractMost bids of Dalian Metro are carried out with shallow tunneling method. However, for the section of Xianggong Street Station of Line 2, the geologic condition, which is mainly composed of strong-weathered rock, is so poor that it brings great difficulties in tunnel excavation. To solve the problem of stability of surrounding rock, numerical simulation and field monitoring are used to analysis the displacement field, stress field and plastic zone in every step of construction which use CRD method and also though the contrast of both consequence, The safety of the construction process has been studied and analyzed. The result not only has important guiding meaning after the construction of the tunnel, but also provides the reference for the design and construction of similar projects
Effect of JUNCAO-cultivated Ganoderma lucidum spent mushroom substrate-hot water extract on immune function in mice
Purpose: To evaluate the effect of JUNCAO-cultivated Ganoderma lucidum spent mushroom substratehot water extract (SMSG-HWE) on murine immunity. Methods: Five groups of mice (n = 10) received water with 0.00, 0.14, 0.28, 0.84, or 1.68 g/kg of SWSG-HWE, respectively, orally for 30 days. Various biochemical parameters of serum and tissues, including spleen and thymus indices, were determined were determined for the miceResults: The following markers were significantly higher in the 0.84 g/kg SMSG-HWE group than in the control group (all p < 0.05): splenic lymphocyte proliferation, a marker of cell-mediate immunity; dinitrofluorobenzene-induced delayed hypersensitivity; and the number of haemolytic plaque-forming cells, as a marker of humoral immunity. Phagocytic rate, which evaluates mononuclear-macrophage function as a marker of innate immunity, was significantly higher in both the 0.84 g/kg HWE and 1.68 g/kg SWSG-HWE groups, while phagocytic index was significantly higher in the 0.28 g/kg SWSG-HWE group, compared to the control group (all p < 0.05). Natural killer cell activity also was significantly enhanced in the 0.84 g/kg and 1.68 g/kg SWSG-HWE groups (p < 0.05).Conclusion: These findings indicate that SWSG-HWE enhances murine immune function, and may be suitable as a potential additive in animal feed. Keywords: Hot water extract, Cell-mediated immune function, Concanavalin A, Mononuclearmacrophage function, Haemolytic plaque, Humoral immunity, Innate immunity, Animal feed additiv
Action2Motion: Conditioned Generation of 3D Human Motions
Action recognition is a relatively established task, where givenan input
sequence of human motion, the goal is to predict its ac-tion category. This
paper, on the other hand, considers a relativelynew problem, which could be
thought of as an inverse of actionrecognition: given a prescribed action type,
we aim to generateplausible human motion sequences in 3D. Importantly, the set
ofgenerated motions are expected to maintain itsdiversityto be ableto explore
the entire action-conditioned motion space; meanwhile, each sampled sequence
faithfully resembles anaturalhuman bodyarticulation dynamics. Motivated by
these objectives, we followthe physics law of human kinematics by adopting the
Lie Algebratheory to represent thenaturalhuman motions; we also propose
atemporal Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) that encourages adiversesampling of
the motion space. A new 3D human motion dataset, HumanAct12, is also
constructed. Empirical experiments overthree distinct human motion datasets
(including ours) demonstratethe effectiveness of our approach.Comment: 13 pages, ACM MultiMedia 202

The influence of Widmanstätten ferrite, martensite and grain boundary carbides on the strength and impact behaviour of high Al (0.2%) and Nb containing hot rolled steels
The influence of Al and Nb on the strength and impact behaviour of hot rolled 0.06%C, 1.4%Mn steels has been determined after hot rolling to 15 and 30 mm thick plate. When 0.16%Al was added to the plain C-Mn steel, the impact behaviour significantly improved even though Widmanstätten ferrite (WF) was present. This improvement was due to refinement of the grain boundary carbides and removing the N from solution as AlN. The hot rolled steels all contained WF but when Nb was added more WF formed as well as MA giving poor impact behaviour. Reducing the hardenability from that shown in previous work by decreasing C from 0.1 to 0.06%, Nb from 0.03 to 0.02%, and cooling rate from 33 to 17 K/min had no effect in improving the impact performance of hot rolled Nb steels. To ensure optimum properties not only is it necessary to reduce the hardenability, but WF formation must be discouraged by having a high Ar3. This can only be presently achieved by refining the austenite grain size via control rolling the Nb containing steels; the benefit of adding Al can then, readily be seen. Suggestions are made as to how this might be achieved for hot rolling
Offline parameter estimation using EnKF and maximum likelihood error covariance estimates: Application to a subgrid-scale orography parameterization
International audienceRecent works show that the parameters controlling the parameterizations of the physical processes in climate models can be estimated from observations using filtering techniques. In this paper, we propose an offline parameter estimation approach, without estimating the state of the climate model. It is based on the Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF) and an iterative estimation of the error covariance matrices and of the background state using a maximum likelihood algorithm. The technique is implemented in a subgrid-scale orography (SSO) parameterization scheme that works in a single vertical column. First, the parameter estimation technique is evaluated using twin experiments. Then, the technique is used with synthetic observations to estimate how the parameters of the SSO scheme should change when the resolution of the input orography dataset of a general circulation model is increased. Our analysis reveals that when the resolution of the orography dataset increases, the scheme should take into account the dynamical sheltering that can occur at low levels between mountain peaks located within the same gridbox area
